5 Year Housing Plan

Housing Land Supply - Northern Test Valley

This update provides more recent figures based on the position at 1 April 2009 and takes account of the outcome of consultation on the Council's draft Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) 2009 on the anticipated phasing of development for existing commitments and identified capacity sites for new housing. The final version of the SHLAA and a paper outlining the housing land supply will be available in March.

The five year supply as calculated at 1 April 2009, is for the period 2010/11 to2014/15 (the five years henceforth), as the current year 2009/10 is not included.

The Appeal has been granted

The Inspector has recommended that the appeal be allowed and planning permission granted.

The Secretary of State, Eric Pickles has decided to agree with the Inspector and uphold the appeal.

Picket Piece Appeal Overturned

Welcome to the SAVE PICKET PIECE VILLAGE website.

Picket Piece has been a small rural village for generations.

There are plans to develop and build up to 800 houses, these will be a mix of privately owned and affordable 2 & 3-storey terraced, detached houses, a school and shops, and possibly a public house.

Wates are squeezing more homes in than required by the local plan, confirming they are more interested in profit than the quality of life in the village.

The is NOT within any current Core Strategy

The houses will also include social housing as is required by law.

This represents a 952% increase in the population of Picket Piece, obliterating it as a village forever.

Furthermore, although this doesn't affect Ox Drove directly, the increased traffic in Picket Piece, some additional 2,000 cars, (conservative estimate) will mean that Ox Drove will become a rat run and all surrounding wards will become gridlocked.
